Mrs Marshall June 2018
We really enjoyed this cottage, the weather was beautiful and we spent early mornings and evenings in the sheltered gardens. So quiet with only birdsong to be heard. Very convenient for lots of places including Rosemoor, Dartington Glass, Appledore etc. Gill an Will very pleasant and helpful owners, we would certainly come again. H Marshall
Mrs Henley May 2018
This is the third time that we have stayed at Larkworthy and it was as amazing as ever. Lovely house, beautiful setting, great walks for the dogs and plenty on the doorstep to keep the kids amused. We will definitely be booking again!
Mr Shirtliff April 2018
Lovely accommodation in a beautiful setting with very welcoming hosts.
Ms Snewin April 2018
The hosts, Gill & Will were very welcoming & offered useful suggestions for local dog walks & dog friendly beaches. We were also fortunate to be visiting in the ‘asparagus season’ and were delighted to be given some during our stay. We rented the cottage but saw the lovely Shepherds Hut further down the track which looked beautiful & we were treated to a viewing before we left. We’d happily return for another stay when we next visit Dartmoor as it had everything we needed & was in such a lovely location.
Mr Busby December 2017
Perfect - well thought out and designed with care.

A lovely, comfortable, property, set in an attractive, peaceful garden, ideal for a quiet, restorative break.
Ms Gilbey April 2016
Great cottage with great garden for the dog. Easy walk to Tarka Trail and easy to drive to many beaches. Lovely to have WiFi and so much peace and quiet.
Mr Quinton April 2016
Excellent cottage with home from home creature comforts and utter peace and quiet, great for a complete break away from the day to day stresses of a busy working life.
Mrs Osborne September 2015
This is a beautiful cottage, set in stunning surroundings. Village pub in walking distance serves hot food and welcomes dogs. The facilities in Larkworthy are out of this world. Jacuzzi bath, oils provided. Dishwasher, washing machine. Owners even supplied washing powder and tablets for dishwasher, didn't need to purchase any cleaning materials everything was supplied. We've had a wonderful holiday and would return
Mr Field August 2015
Very friendly/helpful owners and a very well-appointed and spotless cottage. Excellent location for both Dartmoor and North Devon. Lots of very good "dog-friendly" pubs within 15/20 minute drive (and one five minute walk away). All in all, one of the best all-round cottage holidays we've experienced ( and we've done a lot of cottage holidays! ).
Mr Delahoy August 2015
Special thanks to Will for making our son-in-law a beautiful cake for his birthday, it was delicious!
Mrs Griffiths June 2015
The cottage was a gem a wonderful peaceful place to relax and unwind .
Mr Ward June 2015
I would recommend this cottage for people who like a peaceful location. Owners are very friendly and helpful.
Mrs Marsh May 2015
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely cottage, perfect for two adults and an active dog. We have stayed at many cottages over the years and it was one of the best. It may not have been the most luxurious but when you have a dog you appreciate easy to clean floors ! Very comfortable furniture and large TV was welcome after long walks. Loved the whirlpool bath, they even provided the aromatherapy oils. Walks from the door were perfect if we did not want to drive. Find of the week was a little village called Belstone, walks straight onto Dartmoor, stream for the dog and pub for us, bliss.
Mrs Rush September 2014
Larkworthy Cottage is in an excellent location if you love a countryside 'get away from it all holiday ' and provides comfortable accommodation.
Mrs Green September 2014
A perfect place for a relaxing stay. Would highly recommend.
Mrs Coulthard August 2014
What a lovely welcome - scones and flowers. This is an exceptional cottage. It has everything you need. A real home away from home. Would highly recommend the village pub for a lovely meal - dogs welcome.
Mrs Jackson August 2014
This has to be one of the most wonderful cottages we have ever stayed in. I hoped it was going to be good from the description on your website but it far exceeded our expectations. The property, its setting, the area and the owners all were superb. We are really hoping to come back to Larksworthy Cottage next year. Gill and Will should be heartily congratulated for providing such a peaceful, beautifully furnished holiday home. If it was mine, I would never let it to anybody else, just keep it for myself!!!
Mr Pease June 2014
Simply a nice place to stay.
Miss Deare October 2013
What a secluded gem of a property; it was warm, tranquil and luxurious. We treated ourselves to a jacuzzi bath using the complementary baths oils, lounged on the big comfy sofa by the fire, and stood out on the patio and enjoyed the stunning views. We probably stayed on the wettest, most miserable week of the year and yet the cottage still made it feel like a proper holiday.
Mr Burrough September 2013
We had a lovely time at Larkworthy cottage. The owners Will and Jill were kind and helpful. The cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch. The cottage was a perfect oasis for our nervous little rescue dog away from the busy noise of London. Everything about the cottage was relaxing and it is furnished to a high standard. We would not hesitate in recommending this beautiful place. Marion, Dean and Gerry the dog. Ruislip, London
Mr Thorne August 2013
It was really nice to stay at Larkworthy Cottage. Welcoming warm scones were the best we ever had and owners next door were very friendly and helpful. My 10 month old puppy loved exploring in the garden and surroundings. Garden with full of flowers was secured enough for my little puppy. There's no shops in the village but easy driving distance to Okehampton where there are big Waitrose and other shops. This place made us feel really at home. Oh, and beds were so comfortable I asked where they got them!! Highly recommended.
Mr Soden August 2013
This is a lovely, relaxing holiday cottage in a beautiful, if often overlooked, part of North Devon. Friendly and helpful owners nearby extended a superb welcome but left us to our privacy. Your car needs a good engine and brakes in this part of Devon, but the range of attractions within an hour's drive or so makes this a good centre for a variety of interests. If you like good food, crafts, heritage sites or just chilling out in open countryside, this cottage should surely be on your short-list.
