Mrs Robinson-Marshall April 2022
We enjoyed our stay very much. Great that the House keeper dropped by to check on us too. The location and cottage match our need and exceptions perfectly. Thank you from us all.

The cottage is in a good location but is beginning to look rather tired . The gate to the property opens directly onto a very busy road , parking is not possible, the road is busy with farm machinery , buses etc and it wld not be safe to leave a car . Fortunately the local pub allowed us to park there . The cottage has a garden but this is rather overgrown , the garden furniture disappeared halfway through our holiday .

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback for Filkins Cottage. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed the location, there is lots to see and do in the area and hope that you had some great days out. We are sorry to read that you didn't feel comfortable with the on road parking but glad that the pub were able to offer an alternative for you. We are sorry that you found the garden to be overgrown, and that we didn't have the opportunity to discuss with you during your stay. Filkins Cottage is the perfect retreat away: full of charm, well equipped and quiet, with close access to the wonderful coastline and countryside. The closest sea point is the beautiful Port Quinn, just 10 mins drive away and the most wonderful pub/restaurant St Kew Inn only 4 mins away - a blissful week in all. Thank you Filkins!
Mr Hoad October 2020
It's a 300 year old cottage with lots of character.
Mrs Jeffs August 2020
Great location for exploring North Cornwall. Padstow, Rock, Port Isaac, Polzeath, Tintagel and Boscastle (to name a few) are all within half an hour’s drive of this property.
Excellent local pub a few hundred yards down the road serving good traditional pub food.
Mrs Jones August 2020
The garden was not very well kept, the next door neighbour did pop in and cut the hedge leading to the front door on tues as he was cutting his but everything else was over grow and very much unloved, if it were my garden I would feel embarrassed as I did when people walked past.

Mr Greenfield July 2020
Filkins has all the wonderful charm of a cosy cottage, ticks every box and having a utility room with a washer/dryer was a total bonus after days at the beach to get everything clean and dry. Loved the little hidden garden around the back, also a prefect location (quiet & peaceful) but quick to get to the best places (Pt Isaac, Rock, Polzeath, Padstow.)
Mrs Bowey October 2019
Filkins cottage is a lovely Cornish cottage. Beds are very comfortable and the little touches of fresh flowers, a bottle of wine, milk, tea and coffee were very welcoming. This is a cottage I wouldn't hesitate to book again.
mrs Giovanoli September 2019

Thanks for your review of Filkins Cottage. This 17th Century Grade II Listed cottage is full of character and retains many original features which we've included in the description (steep cottage stairs and a typical cobbled cottage garden) which we appreciate won't be suitable for everyone. If you're looking for something a little more modern please do get in touch with our Booking Office team who'd be delighted to help you find something to suit your requirements in the future. Miss Young February 2018
Filkins cottage is full of Cornish charm!
Lovely open fireplace - beautiful kitchen and very quiet and tastefully decorated bedrooms. This was a nlissfully relaxing trip and considering we booked very last minute, the service we revived from Classice Cottages was excellent.
The house itself has great access to the main highway from which you can discover the rest of what cornwall has to offer. A real bonus for us was the proximity to the St Kew Inn pub.
We had a lovely time and would highly recommend it.

I couldn't have chosen a more cosy english country cottage, it so made my holiday. I had arranged a little break for my son for his birthday, and I wanted it to be special and it definitely was. Filkins Cottage will forever be in our memories as a wonderfully cosy cottage to come home to during our Autumn holiday in North Cornwall. I couldn't have expected a warmer welcome, thank you.

Mrs Young May 2016
We had a great week at Filkins Cottage. It is full of character and feels like a 'home from home' Both of the bedrooms are beautifully furnished and decorated, creating a cosy and relaxing sleeping environment. It is situated in a quiet lane with the occasional tractor, but all you can hear mostly is the birds chirping away.
Mr Carr August 2015
