The period cottage has a cosy feel , with original features such as the windows which are listed . We were greeted with tea and cake on arrival and classical music which was a nice touch, and bacon ,pressed apple juice, delicious tea and eggs are provided . We used the tennis courts, played scrabble and you're allowed to wander around the ample gardens which are beautifully kept. There is a very handy farm shop very nearby. The pear juice is delicious ! The location is superb- I highly recommend visiting West Bay and Lyme Regis , beautiful countryside enroute too, only 30 minutes away ! Sherborne is also worth a visit . ...

We really enjoyed staying in the cottage. It is charming with many period features, very cosy and well equipped, and owner Judith was the perfect host. The only negative aspect was the lack of wifi. We thought we’d be able to rely on our mobiles but O2 coverage was virtually non existent in the house (only at the kitchen window or outside in the garden) and it made planning days out a real pain. We mentioned this to Judith and she said broadband locally is very slow but we’d urge her to install it as it’s better than nothing. Only other things to bear in mind is that the garden isn’t completely enclosed as our terrier escaped (Judith is aware and said she’d fix it) and the car parking area is largely surrounded by trees so park carefully otherwise your car will be covered in leaves and bird mess like ours was!...

The presentation, character and surroundings of The Lodge were exceptional. A generous welcome pack was a small detail, but set the tone for the rest of the week. Everyone we met was welcoming. There were many local events and much to see in stunning countryside....

The property was excellent, clean and very well equipped and comfortable. It was well located, with lots of good dog walks in the area and the farm shop close by was well stocked with most things. Lovely relaxing holiday , would definitely book again...
