The house has a huge garden with totally unspoilt views over the Exmoor hills. The little stone building to the right is a storage barn not another cottage.
This is the view from the house and garden - there is also a footpath from the side of the house down the valley and to the top of this hill.
The sitting-room has a huge wood-burning stove and doors out to the patio.
This house has the benefit of two eating areas, an informal one off the kitchen and this separate dining-room.
The patio is tucked to the side of the house in a sheltered position with stunning views down the valley.
This friendly family home is the best place to put your feet up and relax.
There is a large farmhouse-style kitchen.
Westcott Cross Cottage is really well-equipped with much more than our general inventory.
A boot-room with a stable-door leads through to the kitchen with its warming Aga.
Off the kitchen is a lovely breakfast-area.
This photograph shows the layout of the kitchen beyond the living-room, as well as the open-tread stairs to the first floor. There is a second staircase at the other end of the house.
You will enjoy eating al fresco and picnics in the garden.
Or cooking up a family treat with plenty of local produce.
This is the dual aspect master bedroom.

To one corner is a little sofa - a peaceful tucked away area making the most of the historic roundel which is part of the original design of this house
You can have a leisurely breakfast in your own room!

We are sure you will want to get up early and set off to explore Exmoor but some lazy lie ins are part of the holiday too.
This double bedroom is at the far end of the house, with its own staircase up from the dining-room and a little shower-room too.
This bedroom is a great option for a multi generation family holiday.
This image will give you an idea of the size of the room
Finally, this is the single bedroom, next to the master bedroom.
There is a family bathroom with doors to both the main part of the house and the part with the second staircase. In addition to the second upstairs shower-room, there is a shower and WC downstairs.

August 2018

June 2018

A well appointed and comfortable accommodation which was ideal for our family

May 2018

Wonderful cottage in a lovely location and very peaceful.

July 2017

This is a delightful cottage which is both clean and comfortable with plenty of room for the full complement of guests. The family use the house themselves and it shows. There is an excellent array of equipment for entertaining oneself and for cooking/washing etc. The AGA at the centre of the house is welcoming on miserable days and very tempting for the would-be cook. We made bread and hot meals during our stay. The view from the house is stunning. This part of Somerset is beautiful and amazingly quiet even in August. There is an endless network of footpaths in the area so you could keep the car on the drive and still explore somewhere new everyday.

September 2016

Our second visit was as lovely as the first we will be coming again! Such a peaceful comfortable place to stay. Beautiful area to explore. A very relaxing holiday.

September 2016

A fine characterful house in a beautiful location with glorious countryside and fine walks all around. Very large, enclosed garden and fine beach at Dunster for the dog (if you've got one or more). A wonderful place to stay.

May 2016

We had a wonderful holiday, the cottage was excellent.we loved the secluded rural area no cars or mobile signal...We will be returning

September 2015

If you want a superb location and wonderful accommodation then this is the place to book, but hurry as it seems to be very popular, and we can understand why.

August 2015

We had a lovely holiday. The cottage was beautiful and very well equipped. The location was great and very peaceful, although a good sat-nav is essential! It was great to be able to bring the dogs and lots of good local walking routes for exercise. Highly recommended.

May 2014

So comfortable and warm, and three walks from the house, (steep) and a fantastic view from the garden.

August 2013

This was an absolute gem of a find. We had a fantastic holiday, the cottage was brilliant. We were able to bake bread, cakes and cook wonderful meals thanks to all of the equipment in the cottage. The children enjoyed Dunster beach and cycling around the local area...I am afraid I was not so keen on the up hill bits!!! One week was not long enough. Thanks for the warm welcome of a cake and flowers lovely touch. I cannot recommend it enough We hope to be back

August 2013

We had a really nice week at Westcott Cross Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was spacious with plenty of kitchen equipment, sofas, chairs, etc. - a real home from home. A lovely house which was nice to return to in the evenings for a BBQ on the patio.

August 2013

We were looking for relaxed accommodation for 7 people and a dog and we certainly found it here! It really was just like staying at a friend's house, absolutely loved it and would thoroughly recommend.

July 2013

This is a lovely house beautifully situated, with a well-kept garden looking over and down at fields with sheep. It is very comfortable and extremely well-equipped Although it appears remote in the tiny village of Luxborough, one is only twenty minutes by car from Minehead and shops. There is much to do in the area, which is very beautiful. We would certainly go back there and we don't often say that about a holiday house.

June 2013

Fantastic location with stunning views, plenty of space and very comfortable. The aga made it warm downstairs but that was easily remedied with open windows. Loved cooking on the Aga - never tried it before but was extremely simple and very convenient. We would definitely recommend and hope to return next year
