A tranquil warm and beautifully presented cottage with charming and thoughtful hosts next door, deep in the Devon countryside.

Kiln cottage is such a beautiful, comfortable, character filled cottage in such a lovely area. Really friendly welcoming hosts. Prosecco in the fridge, tea, coffee, milk etc all provided, really nice touches. Would definitely come to the area and the cottage again. No negatives at all.

Peter and Viv were the perfect hosts, on arrival lovely bottle of bubbly in the fridge, very welcome after a long drive, lovely oats biscuits, and milk in the fridge, plus a supply of tea bags and coffee. Kiln Cottage is very clean and comfortable, everything you might need is to hand. Peter is very knowledgable about the area and full of good advice on places to visit and where to go for a good meal. We had a lovely time, despite the weather! Kiln Cottage is a beautiful cottage, away from all the hustle and bustle, but a short distance away from nearby attractions.

Wonderful host's and a perfect holiday. We have travelled extensively and stayed in many self catering properties. Kiln Cottage is certainly at the top of the list and hopefully we will return.

The cottage and location are idyllic and very peaceful. It’s comfortable and well equipped, great for a couple. Surrounded by beautiful countryside with spring flowers in the hedgerows and garden and lambs cavorting in the fields. An ideal location for exploring South Devon and beyond. The owners were perfect, caring hosts - there if needed, but not at all intrusive. We’d love to return one day.

Kiln Cottage was the ideal getaway. On our arrival the owners made us feel very welcome. The cottage had all the amenities and was cosy and comfortable. We had our own private garden, and loved the area, it was close to Totnes and surrounding areas.

A lovely little cottage with a beautiful garden and views of fields all around. Attentive and caring owners who made all the difference. Don't rely on sat nav.......invest in a map!

Secluded, peaceful, picture perfect cottage. An ideal base to explore South Devon

Kiln Cottage is perfect for a couple. Traditional cottage with wood burner (although we visited in the summer), steep narrow spiral like stairs which we found fine (we're in our late 50s, average fitness!). Bonus of a garden all to yourself. Lots to do in the area. We loved Totnes and Dartington Hall is worth a visit.

Lovely cottage, so cosy and quiet. Pheasants and ducks visiting the garden each day - a very unusual and tranquil scene, certainly for me! Viv and Peter were very welcoming and there if needed - the Prosecco chilling in the fridge was a lovely touch after a long journey!

A warm welcoming cosy base for beautiful walking days

Kiln Cottage is ideally situated as it is in the heart of the Devonshire countryside as well as providing easy access to visit places of interest, for example, Buckfast Abbey, the steam train ride from Buckfastleigh to Totnes and lovely beaches like Bigbury.

Beautiful and cozy cottage, 20-30 minutes drive from beaches and seaside towns. The hosts are amazing, welcoming and friendly but considerate in giving us privacy. It’s a cottage so my partner who is 6’3” kept hitting his head but we expected that. The bed worked for him. Great water pressure, well stocked kitchen, and we even had our own big garden! We wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Kiln Cottage, Totnes... All you could ever want!

We returned yesterday from a week's holiday at Kiln Cottage, just outside Totnes in Devon. The owners Peter and Viv were so welcoming to us and on hand for anything we required. However, the well appointed cottage was full of absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable 'home from home' experience that we didn't even need to bother them at all! The gardens are as picturesque as they look in the photos and the cottage is cute, cosy and peaceful and situated within a beautiful rural farmland setting. We found that virtually any attractions we wanted to visit were all within a 20-30 minute drive. The nearest pub is a mile walk away, providing delicious, hearty pub grub (and the walk back was just what we needed to a burn off the excess calories we consumed!) Kiln Cottage is exactly as it looks in the photos and a wonderful holiday base from which to sample the delights of Devon! Thank you Peter and Vic and Classic Cottages. We WILL return!

Tranquil location, lovely, relaxing garden, vey helpful and friendly owners.

We had a delightful holiday at Kiln Cottage. Peter and Viv could not have been nicer hosts. The setting of the cottage is really heavenly; it is incredibly quiet and the gardens are every bit as beautiful as they appear in the photographs. We had some great days out walking on Dartmoor, visiting Totnes and Dartmouth, and walking some of the South West Coastal Path from Dartmouth.

Peter and Viv were most welcoming.

We felt very private in the cottage and garden whilst at the same time knowing they were there for any advice or help we might need. A perfect combination.

Lovely well equiped cottage with a large private garden in peaceful surroundings.

Lovely cottage very nice hosts.

Lovely friendly welcome and bottle of fizz and glasses chilled as a welcome.

We've stayed here several times, it is always excellent.

If you are looking for somewhere to stay that is quiet, peaceful and relaxing yet still close to many interesting attractions then this is a good place to stay. The location is beautiful, though beware the roads are very narrow and this comes from some-one who lives in Cornwall! The cottage is cosy but plenty big enough for two and the kitchen has everything you need. Viv and Peter were very friendly and helpful.

We had s lovely stay at Kiln cottage. It is in a very quiet location but convenient for visiting many local places. There are numerous National Trust properties within a 30-60 minute drive. The owners Peter and Viv were very welcoming and helpful but not at all intrusive. The cream tea awaiting on arrival was much appreciated.

Thanks to Peter and Viv this was a lovely cottage to stay in, in a beautiful setting. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and hope to return as soon as I can.

A charming and well-appointed cottage in a beautiful and quiet location. The owners couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. All booked at short notice and handled efficiently. We plan to return.

We booked Kiln Cottage at very short notice and we were absolutely delighted. The location was wonderful, the only sounds were birdsong and the sheep in the next field. The owners could not have been more friendly or helpful. The staff at Classic Cottages were efficient, did exactly what they said they would and and helped with booking when there was an problem online. We would definitely consider going there again.

A pretty and peaceful cottage in a beautiful location.

Lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Perfect for us to explore South Devon and provided everything we could need.

Super cute cottage, really set up well and great location to explore all of Devon. Really great hosts.

This was our third stay at this cottage, it was just as good as before. The garden is lovely, the location is bucolic, the quietude and lack of traffic noise is restful. There is also easy access to the south coast and Plymouth.

Cosy, lovely owners, stunning views?! What more could you ask for? If perfection exists this wee cottage is it.

This cute, cosy, spotlessly clean cottage is a home from home. It is well-placed for exploring the South Hams whilst also offering a quiet rural retreat to return to on an evening.

The quiet location with a field full of sheep at the back of the cottage. Everything that we needed was in it and there was no light or sound pollution so overall a great stay.

We loved this pretty cottage and gardens, lovely and clean and cosy with a beautiful garden. Not too far from lovely pubs. The owners are Lovely and very helpful, we didn't want to leave.

This is a charming, cosy, clean, quiet cottage. Although it is small, it does not feel pokey as it is well laid out. The steep, curving steps up to the bedroom are a challenge, but there are rope 'banisters' to hold onto. The private garden for sole use by guests is lovely. The location is good for exploring the South Hams, you will need a car and a strong nerve for some of the smaller roads.

The cottage was delightful in all respects. We wanted somewhere to relax and Meditate over the half term holidays - Kiln Cottage provided the perfect venue.

Our hosts (living next door) we're on hand to ensure our every need was catered for.

We intend to return next year and explore more of the beautiful river Avon.

The owners made us very welcome to what was a very comfortable accommodation.

A most welcome gesture of food suppled upon arrival of scones, jam, clotted cream, milk , eggs & granary bread provided from local store. Very well situated for exploring South Devon and Dartmoor.

All said in the visitors book.

We can thoroughly recommend Kiln Cottage, it really is a lovely place to stay with everything thought of for you, and in such a lovely part of the country.

It exceeded expectations. Having stayed in many self-catering properties I can honestly say that Kiln Cottage in Diptford, Devon is the most well equipped property. The owners were charming, welcoming and thoughtful providing a marvelous Devon cream tea on arrival plus fresh bread, local free range eggs, coffee, tea plus many more extras. We had a private garden to relax in. Although our cottage was attached to the owners property our privacy was respected at all times. Vivian and Peter made sure the bird feeders outside our kitchen window were kept full attracting an abundance of wildlife. Would definitely recommend staying here to anyone needing a peaceful, relaxing, country holiday.

Peter & Viv gave us a lovely welcome. A super quiet country setting, with excellent garden to sit in. Very comfortable and homely cottage, just what we were looking for.

A very peaceful place but with easy access to the main attractions in the area.

Kiln Cottage has been the fifth cottage that we booked with Classic Cottages and your service and organization is perfect!! Thank you very much!! Kiln Cottage was such a cosy and comfortable cottage with very friendly and in any way helpful owners living next door. We felt at home from the very first moment. We felt completely spoilt having such a beautiful garden that we could call 'our own' for these two weeks. The back garden that we could see from the kitchen was an absolute pleasure, too, with so many wonderful birds which easily could hold you back from cooking!! :) :)

It was a joy to stay at Kiln Cottage- just the holiday we had been dreaming of. The sheep and cows out the window were icing on the cake.

Beautiful little cottage. Ideal for two. Very friendly owners who were very helpful. We were able to use the woodburner. We had delicious local products when we arrived. However there were a couple of things that bothered us : we were not always successful in finding out how to work the shower. And the bed seemed a little bouncy. Very poor reception for your mobile phone, but it was compensated by the good wifi signal, and we were able to make some phone calls from the phone in the cottage. The owners were really friendly.

home from home nice place and lovely people

Would recommend this cottage as a beautiful, romantic getaway. Had an amazing holiday. Owners very friendly and helpful.

We have recently had the most delightful stay at Kiln Cottage. Our hosts were charming and helpful and the wonderful cream tea provided on arrival was sumptuous. The cottage was full of character and was also a perfect location for exploring south Devon. This is a cottage not to be missed!

the cottage and the owners will take the stress away and let you have a great break

A truly beautiful cottage, with wonderful owners who thought of everything - to arrive to the makings of a Devon cream tea, containers of tea and coffee and eggs in the fridge and wood in the shed who could ask for more! This was an amazing place to stay, so quiet and peaceful in the surroundings and especially the garden - just the spot to sit, read and ponder with a cup of tea or something stronger. In fact it inspired me to write: "A nursery field with lambs at play, And a stream that gently wends its way, Where primroses bloom and daffodils sway, This is the place to come and stay!" Once again, Classic Cottages came up trumps - thank you all.

Mrs Soler The owners were very welcoming. The welcome pack was very good. The property well maintained and has everything you would need for a comfortable stay.

This was a delightful property in a lovely peaceful location, we enjoyed the fact it was a good place to use as a base to explore South Hams. The owners were very welcoming and provided lots of information as well as a lovely locally produced Devon Cream Tea as a welcome. The property is really well maintained and has absolutely everything needed for a comfortable stay, whatever the weather.

A perfect, peaceful little rural escape.

This is a cosy cottage for two people in a loverly quiet location. It is well equiped & included a tea cosy which is often forgotten these days. The welcome pack was the best we have had & it was nice to have the owners next door who were very friendly & helpful. It has it's idiosyncrasies like creaking stairs & a fluctuating shower but these are the things you remember long after the holiday & laugh about.
