TwinThe Cowstall is a fabulous single-storey detached property in a lovely setting at the top of the original farmstead. This exceptionally high quality barn conversion is set on a working family farm at the heart of Somerset with Wells, Glastonbury, the dramatic Mendip Hills (Cheddar Gorge is a must), and the unique Somerset Levels all within very easy reach.
The Cowstall has a bright open plan living/dining/kitchen space with three sets of French doors to the patio, and beautiful open lawns to the front. Entering the cottage up three exterior steps, there is a good sized utility-room which is ideal for washing off wellies and for leaving walking boots and coats.
There are two very comfortable bedrooms off a wide corridor, one with a king-size double bed and large walk-in en suite shower, the other with twin beds. The family bathroom has a wonderful deep bath and a hand held shower attachment.
The Cowstall has been furnished beautifully and is a real home-from-home with all that you could want for your holiday here. A wall-mounted pebble-effect electric fire, huge flat screen TV, and WiFi make this a lovely choice for out-of-season breaks as well as for summer holidays. You are able to sign into your own Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts on the Smart TV to view all your favourite films and boxsets.
The original farmstead is to the side of the farmhouse, and The Cowstall is in an elevated position above The Piggery and offers a really good level of privacy.
This is a very popular area for cycling with all the ancient drovers' tracks across the Somerset Levels, and for adventurous walking – or caving for the experienced adventurers – in the Mendip Hills. Finding a vantage point at the top of the Mendips above the Ebbor Gorge at Priddy is worth it simply for the view, with the Somerset Levels stretched out in front of you, and on a clear day, views across the Bristol Channel to South Wales.
