Hayloft is in the heart of Barrington near the historic market town of Ilminster in south Somerset.

This welcoming barn conversion is within a small group of historic barns and has plenty of original features. There is a private enclosed garden and patio at the front and inside, the reverse level accommodation and floor to ceiling windows allow the light to flood in. Bright artwork gives a cheerful and contemporary feel to this well positioned home-from-home.

This spacious and friendly cottage has under-floor heating in the kitchen and bathroom and with a wood-burner in the living-room as well, it is a great choice throughout the year. Flax Barn (2019) is in the same development.

This part of Somerset offers an amazing range of things to do. There is a cluster of historic houses to visit – Barrington Court of course, an easy walk from the cottage, where there is a cafe, restaurant and group of independent artisan craft workshops as well as the house and gardens. Then there is Montacute House, Tintinhull and Lytes Carey all within a 10 mile range.

For those who love the countryside, try a walk to the top of the vast Iron Age fort at Cadbury Castle. From the top of the fort you can see across the whole county and into Dorset too.

Ilminster is the nearest little town – a special treat to find a place where there is still a very strong and thriving range of independent shops to choose those holiday treats from. Further afield, the incredible Jurassic Coast is an easy drive to the south – visit Lyme Regis and walk along the famous harbour. However, if you decide on a car-free day, Barrington village itself is a lovely setting to enjoy – a friendly local pub and all the wonderful walks around the village.

If you wanted to bring friends or family on holiday with you, you could book Flax Barn (2019) as this is within the same cluster of barn conversions – both cottages have space for you all to eat together at the end of a day out exploring this lovely part of the county.
