Whitehouse Farm is a wonderfully welcoming Victorian farmhouse perfect for families and friends looking to explore the Kent and Sussex countryside.

Dog-friendly and in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the views of the surrounding countryside are stunning. You may be lucky enough to spot a herd of deer which visits the farm frequently throughout the year.

The front door, featuring stained glass panels, opens to the light and airy entrance hall. The feeling of light and space continues throughout the house thanks to the beautifully proportioned rooms with high ceilings and bay windows. Some of the rooms still have their original fireplaces (these are ornamental and not for use) and this mix of old and new creates a lovely homely feel.

There are two comfortable sitting-rooms, one with a cosy wood-burning stove, and both rooms have a TV.

The generous open plan kitchen/dining-room is a lovely sociable space to cook up a storm using the large dual fuel range. Off the kitchen is a cloakroom, the utility-room and a useful boot-room - don't forget those wellies! There is additional living and dining space in the conservatory, which enjoys pleasant views of the surrounding gardens.

The first floor has an open split-level landing leading to a twin bedroom and the traditional-style family bathroom. At the end of the landing is the principal suite with 'zip and link' beds (which can be made up as a super-king bed or three-foot twin beds if you prefer). The suite also has a dressing area and en suite bathroom. At the front of the house, with far-reaching views, are two more double bedrooms, one with an en suite shower-room.

Venturing into the garden, the pretty terrace is a lovely spot where you can relax, listen to the sounds of nature, catch the afternoon sun and perhaps enjoy a barbecue. Dogs will enjoy the garden as well but please remember it isn't entirely escape-proof!

Guests are welcome to walk across the fields and even take a picnic during the warmer months. Please note that this is a working farm so there will often be cows and sheep grazing. Guests are asked to follow the countryside code, shut gates and always keep their dogs on a lead.

Although Whitehouse Farm is situated in a quiet rural location, the pretty and historic village of Rotherfield is less than two miles away where you will find a general store and a couple of pubs. It is a short drive from Crowborough and Tunbridge Wells if you are looking for a greater selection of shops and supermarkets. For connections to London, it is only a few miles from Eridge railway station which has a mainline service taking about an hour.

There is so much to see in this beautiful part of the county: there are many vineyards in the area but the closest is the Busi Jacobsohn Wine Estate which is almost on the doorstep. Why not book yourselves in for a guided tour and tasting? Or visit Groombridge Place which has beautiful formal gardens, a fairytale adventure forest and birds of prey. Hever Castle, childhood home of Anne Boleyn, isn't far - see if you can find your way out of the famous maze!

Take a short drive to Tunbridge Wells, well known for The Pantiles and Chalybeate Spring and enjoy some retail therapy or lunch at one of the many cafes and restaurants this lovely town has to offer.

Nap Wood is great for walking and cycling or visit Ashdown Forest, home of Winnie the Pooh!

If you fancy a day at the beach, the coast is approximately an hour's drive - take your pick between Camber, Pevensey, Eastbourne or Brighton.
