A stay at Gardener's Cottage brings you everything you could wish for in a holiday location - spacious rooms, beautiful furnishings and a stunning setting complete with outdoor heated swimming pool. Situated at the end of a pretty terrace of properties, Gardener's Cottage is the largest of the four at Dominey's Yard.

Open plan living doesn't get much better than the fabulous sitting/dining-room - whether you are enjoying family meals, or snuggling up in front of the wood-burner, we are sure this space will delight everyone. Even the most discerning chefs will be taken with the kitchen as it is sure to leave you wanting for nothing more. On those balmy summer evenings, throw open the kitchen door on to your private patio - we can hear the barbecue sizzling already! Just off the kitchen, there is a handy shower-room meaning each bedroom has use of its own bathroom/shower-room.

Upstairs the main bedroom is quite special and has delightful views over the garden - the perfect spot for breakfast in bed. A modern en suite finishes off this bedroom excellently. Two further bedrooms are located at the front of the cottage, giving plenty of room for all the family. The family bathroom is a delight and boasts a double ended bath.

The owners live adjacent to the cottage and whilst they are very welcoming and on hand to help, you are assured of the upmost privacy.

The grounds at Dominey's Yard are fabulous and guests are very welcome to explore the 2.5 acres of gardens where we are sure a game of hide-and-seek has to be on the agenda! A hearty vegetable patch offers guests the chance to purchase excellent produce from the owners; the farm to fork journey is almost non-existent which is sure to make your family meals that bit more special.

Once you have finished exploring the gardens, head to the outdoor heated swimming pool (open May to September and shared with three other cottages) where you are sure to make many happy holiday memories.

For larger family groups or celebrations (accommodating up to 18 guests), Dominey's Yard offers the perfect escape where everyone can have their own space. Other cottages available are Poacher's Cottage (4522), Gamekeeper's Cottage (4523) and Woodcutter's Cottage (4524)

Buckland Newton is home to the Gaggle of Geese, a friendly local pub known for serving great food and only a short stroll from the cottage. The Old Chapel village store is perfect for stocking up on locally-sourced produce. Further afield is the county town of Dorchester that still has a weekly market and is rich with Thomas Hardy history. Just five miles away from Gardener's Cottage is the infamous Cerne Abbas Giant, an ancient figure sculpted in to the hillside. For a spot of retail therapy head to the historic town of Sherborne where there are many independent boutique shops waiting to be explored.

A holiday to Dorset is of course not complete without a trip to the Jurassic Coast and within 45 minutes you will be met by the coastal beauty of this county. The seaside town of Weymouth, with its award-winning beach and mix of attractions is well worth a visit.
