If you were looking for cottages like The Mowhay, how about trying these:

From its humble beginnings as three farm buildings, this is now one impressive pad! Beautifully converted creating a truly comfortable and welcoming retreat, with some of its agricultural heritage preserved in its design (all nicely cleaned up of course!) the interiors are superbly spacious and there's plenty of room for outdoor living as well.

Tucked away in unspoilt, sleepy Devonshire countryside, close to the Cornwall border, the setting is blissfully rural, yet in a few minutes you can find yourself at the seaside resort of Bude and the amazing north coast, offering the perfect combination of coast and countryside, and two glorious counties to explore – what's not to love about this place?

This is a great house for celebratory trips away or simply a good excuse for family and friends to get together and it will be adored by young and old alike. Set on the first floor the fabulous sitting/dining-room with its high vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and oak flooring invite all to gather, whether it's formal dining around the grand table or cosied up on the sofas for late night chats or to watch a holiday film on the whopping 55 inch TV!

Leading off from the half landing into what was known as 'The Round House' (and it's not hard to see why) is the wonderful kitchen. This is one well stocked kitchen and you have everything you need whether serving up a simple breakfast at the kitchen table, a lazy lunch on the terrace or pulling out all the stops for a culinary masterpiece. There are even some historic recipes on the wall courtesy of the owner's Mum and Grandmother – if Pickled Pig takes your fancy! Taking pride of place is the original mill dating back 100 years, now fully restored and in immaculate condition – although it has retired from its milling duties and is simply there to be admired.

Spread out across the ground floor, with characterful steps throughout, are the bedrooms and bathrooms and here you will find yet another delight, the games-room. This is the chilling out room, for relaxing on the sofa catching up on some TV or challenging each other to a game of table tennis or a pool tournament on the no expense spared pool table. Built from two barns, now connected by a short passage, each part of the house has 2 bedrooms and a bath or shower room along with a lounge area, so it's ideal for 2 families or for those who might want some peace or a little more privacy.

You can enjoy more chilling in the garden with a glass of wine on the terrace or relaxing with a good book on the sun loungers whilst your little treasures burn up more of their endless energy with ball games on the lawn or perhaps suggest a game of hide and seek!
