The beauty of a holiday here is you can choose to be as active as you wish and, subject to the weather, you can order food from our 24-hour room service so you can simply enjoy the fabulous surroundings of your apartment all day, every day without leaving. It would be a shame not to explore The Saunton Sands Hotel's fantastic facilities though and as a guest at The Penthouse, you can access all, including a large swimming pool (heated from mid-May to September but open for cold water dips in winter if you are feeling brave), a well-equipped gym, tennis and fitness classes. You can even loan a Dryrobe from reception! The Source Spa and Wellness is where you can enjoy the marine-inspired thermal suite, treatment rooms and Finnish aroma sauna. Guests can even enjoy surfing lessons which are free during school holidays and at weekends between June and September.
The beautiful sandy beach is a short stroll away and there are many more along the coast including Croyde, Woolacombe and Westward Ho!. The South West Coast Path passes the front door of the hotel, and with 630 miles to explore there's plenty to keep the fittest walker happy. The pretty villages of Appledore and Instow are worth a look and link by a passenger ferry across the estuary in summer. Golfers can choose between the stunning 36-hole course at Saunton, Ilfracombe with the most spectacular views and Portmore on the outskirts of Barnstaple.
