Nestled in the glorious coastal Welcombe valley on the north Devon heritage coastline and newly available, you will delight at discovering Strawberry Water House, located a short walk away from the rugged and dramatic beach at Welcombe Mouth where visitors enjoy miles and miles of glorious coast paths throughout the year, a true escape for the perfect holiday.

Strawberry Water House is a gorgeous holiday home thoughtfully furnished to offer a warm and inviting welcome. A getaway here will be a delight for you, your extended family or perhaps a group of friends looking for the ultimate rural coastal escape in a rather special valley that will illuminate with stars on a clear night!

Strawberry Water Cottage (5322) is next door to Strawberry Water House and sleeps three guests. Please contact our Sales and Support team to find out more information and book.

Enter the front door, step over the threshold, passing through the entrance porch and downstairs WC and into the open plan living/kitchen dining area. Here we think you will be wowed by the stunning and quirky interiors and the glorious feel of open plan living that gives space to relax and come together as a family creating those holiday memories.

The sitting-area, complete with plump comfy sofas and log-burner, is perfect for those chillier nights whilst watching a movie on the Smart TV. The traditional handcrafted kitchen has a rustic charm, fully equipped for the keenest cook and perfect for creating those family feasts. For coffee lovers the owners have provided that all-important coffee machine and of course if you don't fancy washing up, there is a dishwasher. You have the option of two dining-areas, one being perfect for breakfast and the other for a more formal setting or the perfect family board game option.

Climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find four unique bedrooms, all with luxury linens for a great night's sleep. Bedroom one being a twin furnished with gorgeous antique furniture and an outlook to the front of the house and the valley that leads down to the beach. Bedroom two benefits from an en suite shower-room and has a feature bedstead adding to the lovely country rustic charm, again benefiting from wonderful views to the front of the house and beyond. Across the landing you will discover the fun and cleverly configured double bunk-bedroom where all four beds are hand-crafted, three-foot wide beds being perfect for both young and old.

A talking point of the house will be the family bathroom thanks to the Victorian shower/bath that sits proudly in the centre of the room - this really is a one of a kind and will not be forgotten! Lastly but by no means last you will discover the rather chic bedroom four that would not look out of place in a swish hotel. This double-aspect room is flooded with light which makes the room feel rather special. A luxury roll top bath sits at one end of the room and the beautiful French antique king-sized bed overlooks the stream and gardens. Every room in this lovely house will delight, Strawberry Water House is the perfect retreat to return to after a hard day of holidaying on the north coast!

Step outside and enjoy a rather spectacular garden that offers the perfect spot to relax and enjoy simply looking up at the endless skies above whilst listening to the bird song and chatter. The garden has been landscaped creating a lower al fresco dining patio-area with a barbecue and outdoor prep area with lots of seating and tables. In addition there is a raised grassed area perfect for playing and running off some steam.

You may decide to spend your days enjoying your peaceful surroundings and the many countryside walks from the doorstep and of course Welcombe Mouth beach which is renowned for its sunsets, stunning waterfall and rock pools. However, should you wish to explore further, north Devon boasts the most beautiful seascapes and countryside with hidden coves, sandy beaches and rolling landscapes just waiting to be discovered. Hartland Point is a short drive away with its iconic white lighthouse and Hartland Abbey, famous as a backdrop for many period dramas, or step back in time and enjoy a family day discovering Clovelly!

Two pubs that come highly recommended are The Old Smithy with a garden and terrace which is an uphill walk from the cottage, but downhill on the way back! The second being The Farmers Arms in the heart of Woolsery village, and here you will also find a fish and chip shop. If you fancy taking home a local souvenir then you will enjoy heading over to Welcombe Pottery!

Take a boat trip to Lundy Island from Bideford Quay, a bird spotter's paradise, or perhaps a visit to Bude is in order, where the beaches are stunning, you can even book a surf lesson with plenty of shops offering hire equipment for the day or week. Also within a short drive is Westward Ho! with its mile of flat sandy beach at low tide; why not book a few surf lessons here, or maybe take a dip in the tidal pool; great fun for all the family.

The twin villages of Instow and Appledore should be on your 'to do' list and you can catch the passenger ferry between the two.

And after a busy day what a treat to return to the peace and tranquility of Strawberry Water, the perfect backdrop for a wonderful holiday.
