Rodin's Retreat

Welcome to Rodin's Retreat, a delightfully charming hideaway, tucked in behind a field of alpacas, near to the rugged landscapes of Dartmoor National Park. With plenty of gorgeous outdoor spots to enjoy, including a fabulous Swedish wood-fired outdoor bath, and a beautifully finished interior to snuggle up in as the sun dips below the horizon, this shepherd's hut is ideal for a relaxing getaway to the great outdoors.

Travel down the winding road and pull up into the owners' sculpture garden and studio to discover your own dedicated parking-area. Stroll past the friendly and inquisitive alpacas and across the wonderfully landscaped secluded field and you'll find the pretty shepherd's hut. Wander up the handmade wooden steps and you'll be greeted by a fabulous, bespoke interior furnished in designer fabrics by the artistic owners, with plenty of modern luxuries to ensure a relaxing stay.

A compact kitchen area sits to the right of the hut complete with an electric oven, induction hob, kettle and a small fridge/freezer. Open up the fantastic double stable doors and enjoy the fresh Devon air as you prepare hearty brunches or warming suppers. Settle down and enjoy your meals at the intimate dining area and enjoy the views across the field through a delightful little window.

There are plenty of other windows dotted around the hut, giving it a fabulous light and airy feel in the mornings. To the left of the hut, you'll find the indulgent king-size bed which is snugly tucked beside the blue timber walls. In the evenings, cosy up in the plush cotton bedding and partake in a spot of stargazing through the brilliant curved rooftop window, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the night sky from the comfort of your own bed. Once it is time for sleep, close the bespoke blind of the stargazing window and rest easy in the cosy shepherd's hut, keeping nice and snug with the warmth of the central heating.

After a great night's sleep, head over to the beautifully presented en suite and enjoy a refreshing shower before heading outside to enjoy a warming morning coffee.

There are plenty of wonderful spots to enjoy Rodin's outside space, including a romantic seating area illuminated by festoon lighting that is ideal for al fresco dining and cooking up a storm on the barbecue. Behind the shepherd's hut you'll also find a gorgeous private decking area which houses two wooden, rocking sun-loungers and a brilliant Swedish log-fired outdoor bathtub, all attractively lit by festoon lights amongst the trees.

Part of Burnswood Boutique Escapes, Rodin's Retreat shares its beautifully secluded field with DaVinci's Den (5146) but your privacy will always be respected. You will also find The Artist's Garret (5247) here too. The owners also live on site and are happy to help with anything you may need.
