These two small, detached granite barns sit harmoniously in a peaceful rural setting just outside the small village of Lanlivery looking towards the Luxulyan Valley, a woodland landscape in a designated World Heritage Site. Both cottages are compact but comfortably furnished, their only other neighbours the Owners, who farm the surrounding fields. From the gravelled driveway Meadowsweet is on the right and Cowslip is tucked neatly to the left, a low granite wall separating the two and mature hedges sheltering them both. Close by is a path leading to the Saints’ Way, an ancient drover’s route evoking images of ancient myths and legends as it cuts through the sculpted granite landscape, and in the distance is Helman Tor, surrounded by a nature reserve. Covering miles from coast to coast, this route is ideal for exploring the Cornish countryside on foot, southwards towards the sailing waters of Fowey or northwards to Padstow with its bustling harbour, seafood restaurants and the beautiful Camel Estuary. The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are just a short drive away and the south coast is also easily accessible, offering great diversity with its beautiful coastline, sheltered coves, sub-tropical gardens and the sandy beaches at Par and Carlyon Bay.
