The pontoon is private to Myrtle Cottage; it can be used by guests or as a pick up location for various boats. Book a RIB across the Solent to The Isle of Wight or up-river to enjoy a picnic on the bankside.
Hamble-le-rice is a lovely place to explore - why not use the river taxi to get there; straight from the private pontoon at Myrtle Cottage.

Dating back to the 18th Century and covered in wisteria, Myrtle Cottage offers a home-from-home; on sunny days make use of the glorious garden with its hot tub and covered barbecue-area and on those chillier nights, cosy up inside with a board game in front of the choice of log fires.
The lawned garden runs along the river with direct access to a 12 metre private pontoon, great for crabbing, fishing and swimming from or take a seat and enjoy the view with an afternoon drink in the sunshine. Bring your own RIB, paddleboards and kayaks (or hire them locally). The glass covered outdoor kitchen and dining-area offers a choice of barbecues to use, along with an oven and hob. At night, there is festoon lighting and outdoor heaters, so you can continue to enjoy your dining experience after the sun has gone down.
From the garden, step into the kitchen to explore your holiday home. Here you have all the modern conveniences that you need coupled with the charm you would expect from a cottage of this age. With the river on your doorstep, you can adventure to your hearts' content; from hiring a classic clinker launch or for those thrill seekers, a skippered RIB can take you across the Solent to the Isle of Wight for lunch. There is so much to do without travelling far - head to the New Forest and find a trail to explore, plan a lunch or dinner at one of the great local eateries (The Jolly Sailor is next door) or for a touch of history, the historic dockyard at Portsmouth makes for a great day out.

The property has a private pontoon on the River Hamble, meaning the garden runs alongside the water, so children must always be supervised. From the roadside parking there are two paths to the cottage - one is a gradual slope and the other has a series of steps (these are shallow in depth and well spaced out) and photos of both are shown on the listing. *A cot is not provided, bring your own travel cot.
