Tredhowr is a spacious detached contemporary house just 10 minutes’ walk from the beach, the coastal footpath and championship golf course at Carlyon Bay, and the wonderful tall ships moored in Charlestown harbour. There is level access into the oak-floored hallway, and the big open plan living-room has a fully fitted kitchen, separate dining-area and a sitting-area with a wood-burner, windows overlooking trees and lawns and doors out to a private patio and enclosed garden. The ground floor bedroom has an en suite bathroom with a separate walk-in shower as well as a corner bath, ideal for anyone with limited mobility. The utility-room houses a small pool table and children’s games, keeping youngsters occupied so the grown-ups can relax.
The quality of the house is evident as soon as you enter, with the bespoke oak staircase reflecting the high standard of the oak-flooring and doors. Upstairs, the en suite double bedroom has masses of space and its own sitting-area and TV. The two twin bedrooms share the family bathroom and there is a separate cloakroom on the ground floor. This is a lovely peaceful location where you can relax in comfort but with plenty for all ages to see and do. There are pubs and cafes at Charlestown and a shipwreck museum that will intrigue children. The beaches on either side of the harbour entrance are shingle at high tide but sand is revealed as the tide drops back. Porthpean beach, just over a mile away, has a sandy beach and rock pools. Coastal footpaths meander along the cliffs, and there is a renowned golf course, great restaurant and luxury spa at nearby Carlyon Bay Hotel. The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are a short drive away and the sailing town of Fowey is just along the coast, a picturesque jumble of narrow streets, delightful shops and art galleries. Perfect for larger families, Tredhowr is also available out-of-season for smaller groups at the discounted rate.
