Rural in feel, Higher Treluswell Barn is actually only a 10 minute drive from the bustling town and sailing waters of Falmouth, where ferries sail to St Mawes, Truro and the Helford River.
Found at the end of a tree-lined lane adjoining open fields, the local lanes, creekside walks and cycle routes can be explored from the door. Mylor Yacht Harbour is just a couple of miles away, full of yachts and boats of all sizes and a picturesque destination to aim for, with a great cafe and restaurant offering delicious rewards to energetic dog walkers and cyclists.
This is a lovely cottage to use as a base for exploring near and far, with its tranquil countryside location belying the easy access to excellent roads and a handy 240V car charging point for electric cars.
Higher Treluswell Barn has partially reversed accommodation with a large open plan living-room and twin bedroom upstairs, and the second twin bedroom, en suite double bedroom and family bathroom downstairs.
The living-room has oak flooring and a high beamed ceiling, with French doors opening onto a secluded deck-area with far reaching views over surrounding farmland. Comfortable sofas flank a wood-burner effect electric stove and the dining-area has chunky reclaimed wood furniture. There is Sky TV with dedicated broadband provision, great for watching films, catch-up TV and children's programmes, and also streaming music. The kitchen-area is compact but well-equipped, with all the equipment you require for family meals. The twin bedroom on this floor adjoins a cloakroom, offering a little privacy from the bedrooms on the floor below.
There are sandy beaches at Falmouth, Swanpool and Maenporth all within three miles or so, and National Trust gardens at Trelissick and Glendurgan, with The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project a little further afield. The glorious surfing beaches and dramatic cliff paths of the north coast are just half an hour away by car.
The owner and his family are the only near neighbours and provide a very warm welcome. They are happy for children to use the big level lawn in front of their cottage for ball games.
