Great cottage in totally peaceful and out of the way location. The views are astounding. The cleanest and best equipped cottage ever.

Seemed very remote, like many country cottages. Tedious very narrow lanes but if you’re not prepared for them should you have booked a holiday on Cornwall.

The property was fantastic in every respect, very well-equipped and perfectly maintained. Mike was such a friendly host, and the welcome basket (including a delicious homemade Victoria sponge) was a really lovely touch. Despite inclement weather for most of our stay, we were very comfortable and easily kept entertained - Cornwall Monopoly was a hit, the kids loved playing pool, and the huge smart TV and very comfy sofas made for cosy cinema-style family film nights. The sheep in the neighbouring field were calm and happy company whilst enjoying the spectacular views, and a great source of curiosity for our two small dogs. When the sun finally peeked out at the end of the week, an afternoon playing crazy golf in Saltash and a day at the beach in Looe were lovely. A gorgeous, spacious, and luxuriously comfortable house made our holiday just the peaceful break we needed.

Loved the privacy and seclusion of this property, and the views out over the fields to the sea. Enough room for everyone to have their own space or gather altogether both inside and out. Car is essential as walking down the narrow lanes is not altogether safe, especially the busy coast road. Handy location to explore that part of Cornwall, as 5 minutes to main roads. Interesting that you have to pay to leave Cornwall either by Ferry or Bridge, but free to get in. Lots of options for bike hire, kayaking, paddle-boarding, boat hire nearby, and gardens/historic sites to visit. Much fun (and competitiveness) is to be had in the pool room - especially with short cues - beware ending up in the fireplace. Great communication with owner, and quick response to any queries. Overall, had a brilliant time and would love to return. Happy to recommend.

We loved this cottage. It had everything we needed for a very easy stay. A lot of thought has gone into the cottage and there were lots of lovely touches. Good quality furnishings and equipment. Very dog friendly. A real home from home for a larger family or group.

We had a really lovely week here. (2 adults and 2 older kids.) Mike left us a delicious cream tea which was very welcome after a long drive. The cottage was quiet, peaceful and very comfortable. We loved the views from the windows - both of the sea and countryside, but also being able to spot wildlife including deer and birds of prey. The pool room was great, especially on our one very rainy day. Definitely recommend the Finnygook Inn for Sunday lunch, but you need to book ahead.

This is a really comfortable cottage, quite secluded but with really lovely views. We were only two people and two dogs so it felt very spacious. We chose it because it offered charging for our car and allowed 2 dogs, but we were really delighted with the cosy ambiance. The super king bed is super comfortable and we could watch the sun coming up in the morning - lovely.
Mike could not have been more helpful.

Lower St Winnolls was the perfect cottage for my husband and I, our 3 children and my mum. Mike, the owner, was there to meet us upon arrival, he'd even made us a victoria sponge which was lovely. He was very welcoming and informative about the local area. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he was easy to contact if we needed anything. The house is beautiful, everything has been thoughtfully considered and we didn't want for anything. The children especially loved playing pool, and exploring the garden. An especially thoughtful feature was the motion sensor night lights around the house which is brilliant with children in new surroundings. The beds were very comfortable, everyone slept well after our long fun filled days out. The kitchen was very well equipped. My favourite time was sitting on the patio to watch the sun rise and set with the wonderful views from the property. The location was peaceful and tranquil but easy drive to the places we visited which included Looe, The Eden Project, Falmouth and Seaton Beach. We would definitely recommend the ice creams at The Dog and Waffle in Looe!
We've been home a week and I'm still missing being there. We'd love to visit again.

We had a really lovely stay during our time at this cottage. It is very remote and peaceful, which is just what we wanted, but everything you could need is within a short drive. On clear days, you can see the sea from the top bedroom. Beds were comfy and other facilities were useful. We had a few meals in and everything was easy to use. Mike, who owns the cottage, is lovely and friendly. He was in touch a week before we arrived to introduce himself and ask if we had any questions. A couple of members of our party arrived early on the morning. Mike was able to get us into the cottage earlier than expected, which was great. The only issue we had was flies. The cottage backs on to farm fields and it has been warm recently so it can’t be helped, but it did mean we weren’t able to spend as much time in the garden/bbq as we would’ve liked and we kept doors and windows closed as much as we can. Mike was very apologetic about this and was on hand to help during the week when we asked for extra fly strips. Like I said, it can’t be helped really. All in all, a lovely stay and would recommend the cottage.

We had a fantastic stay at Lower St Winnolls, the house is lovely, the setting is great and the ability to explore the surrounding area and the coast made for a wonderful holiday. Our experience in dealing with both Classic Cottages and Mike the owner, was very positive and responsive and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area.

A very comfortable tranquil cottage with nice garden and great views. Lots of chairs and places for sitting outside and well equipped inside. Mike was very welcoming and helpful. Good location for rivers and various beaches

This is the perfect location for 2 adults, 4 teenagers and 1 dog. The peace and quiet for the adults was much appreciated and the biggest hit for the teenagers was the pool table. We definitely recommend a stay here and hope to return in the future.

We were a party of one couple, two friends and a dog. All of us thought it was a great place to stay. The house had a good layout, felt spacious and was well equipped. On the first couple of days we had some sea mist but the heating system meant that we were always comfortably warm, had dry towels etc. On the sunny days we enjoyed using the garden, the seating areas and the barbecue.

The owner and the local caretaker were friendly and informative about the area, giving us good tips for things to do and see. It turned out to be a good location for exploring cornwall. On our days out we visited the Lost Gardens of Heligan, the Eden Project, Padstow where we had a superb meal at Rick Stein’s bistro, Looe and Polperro with it’s lovely art galleries and harbour. Nearer to home we had another great meal at the Finnygook Inn.

I can highly recommend the cottage for both summer and out of season breaks.

What a great place! The lovely views were graced with beautiful sunrises and sunsets, even in October and it was a very easy cottage to relax in. The kitchen-diner is spacious and well equipped and the living area is really tastefully decorated and cosy. Mike had made the fire up for us, ready to light, with plenty of spare firewood and coal to keep us going. The cake was a nice touch too. Lower St Winnolls feels far from the madding crowd, with plenty of options for walking, either directly from the cottage or a relatively short drive away. The local inn, is excellent (and very well managed in terms of social distancing) - a real cut above your usual pub food.
