Chapel Street is one of Penzance’s oldest streets, home to galleries, restaurants and its famous landmark St Mary’s Church, where the bells ring joyously on Sunday mornings. Opposite the church is Number 33, a carefully restored Grade II Listed, three-storey town house with private parking just 500 yards away. This lovely family house is the ideal place in which to relax and recharge your batteries. Take three steep steps up to the front entrance, and the hallway leads you past the cosy sitting-room, with its open fire and wall-mounted plasma television, to the kitchen and dining-room. Watch out for the secret passageway, leading from the kitchen to the steps down to the sheltered terrace – a sun-trap furnished with sun-beds.
