Set within the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, in the heart of East Sussex's 1066 countryside, Castlemans Stables West is one of a pair of sympathetically converted stable blocks, well-equipped and delightfully furnished, less than a 10 minute walk from the charming village of Sedlescombe which offers visitors 'gastro pub' dining at the Queens Head, a well-stocked village shop and a pretty village green edged by 16th Century half-timbered houses.

Castlemans Stables West, which sleeps up to four in two bedrooms providing guests with two bath/shower rooms, maintains a sense of its heritage with overhanging roofs, hayracks and stalls, together with a shared but intimate courtyard which captures the atmosphere of a country stables to perfection.

From its own private deck, the property offers guests uninterrupted views across fields and woodland giving a chance to slow down, take a breath and perhaps spot some of the local wildlife including deer and badgers.

At the front of the stables there is an enclosed area of lawn, which is shared with the neighbouring property, Castlemans Stables East. Sitting at the picnic bench on the lawn is the ideal spot to plan your day's adventure.

Castlemans Stables West can be booked with its neighbour Castlemans Stables East (4421).

Close by there is a lovely bluebell walk from the village church which the owner thoughtfully leaves details of amongst the plethora of walking guides left in the property for guests to use.

Of course an adventure from here could also take in golf at the 18 hole Sedlescombe Golf Club, a tour and tasting at Sedlescombe Organic Vineyard, magnificent gardens including Pashley Manor and Great Dixter, castles at Bodiam, Hastings and Herstmonceux, a steam railway journey at Rother Valley and the coastal delights of Rye, Hastings, Birling Gap and miles of golden sand and dunes at Camber.

1066 country and the High Weald offers its visitors history, heritage, gardens, a medieval landscape and coastal delights making Castlemans Stables East a perfect year-round holiday escape for couples and families alike.
