TwinBarn Owls Cottage is a semi-detached cottage that has been converted from an 18th Century stone barn. Despite having stylish modern fittings, it has still retained much of its original charm with ancient inset fossils and large oak beams which give the cottage its unique and lovely character. The kitchen has all you could need to cook up a hearty holiday meal. Over in the sitting/dining-room there is plenty of space for all of the family to sit and enjoy the warmth of the roaring wood-burner, especially on those cold crisp evenings. This gorgeous cottage has large French windows opening onto the terraced patio area with a fully enclosed garden, it is the perfect spot to unwind with a glass of bubbly, safe in the knowledge that children and dogs can explore without worry.
Heading upstairs, you will be greeted with three bedrooms all offering super-comfy beds. The main bedroom ensures comfort with its king-size double bed and en suite bathroom, the perfect retreat for tired eyes. The second bedroom offers added flexibility with the option of a super-king double bed or two singles, the decision is yours! In bedroom three there are twin beds, providing an excellent set-up for families.
For keen walkers, West Hembury Farm is situated perfectly and offers lots of places where you can enjoy the West Dorset countryside. Barn Owls Cottage is just four miles away from the bustling market town of Bridport that has 'market days' twice a week showcasing lots of quirky stalls and delicious local delicacies. A short drive away is the famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast and West Bay, where some of Broadchurch was filmed.
From the farm you can gaze across the valley towards Eggardon Hill, a National Trust owned Iron Age hill fort; with magnificent views towards Golden Cap and diverse wildlife, it is well worth a visit. This working farm has Gotland sheep and lambs in spring time; resident chickens roam the farmyard and the owners' Shetland ponies, horse and spaniels give the yard an appeal that children will remember a long time after their holiday.
