TwinLet us introduce you to the wonderful, the classic, Pengenna Manor! Tucked away at the end of a private drive, surrounded by glorious Cornish countryside, this unique and very special holiday home, parts of which date back to medieval times, has been refurbished with incredible attention to detail to create an imaginative and stylish home that retains its historic charm and character.
Behind the impressive facade is a warm and welcoming home, where the mullion windows, flagstone floors and granite archways fuse seamlessly with flamboyant wallpapers, sumptuous bedrooms and all the creature comforts of modern day living.
The magic continues outside as Pengenna Manor is set within 20 acres of gardens, woodlands and meadows for you to explore, so whilst the youngsters enjoy fun and games on the lawns, the grown-ups can get back in touch with nature. With so much space on offer you are sure to find your own secret sanctuary.
So if you are celebrating a birthday or anniversary or looking for an excuse to gather family and friends this is the place for you.
Pengenna Manor has been the family home of the same family for the last 150 years and photographs and family albums of generations past and present displayed around the home add to its warmth and history. The current owner who has lovingly brought the manor up-to-date lives on-site in a separate house hidden from view (he also has an office next to the Manor) and whilst giving you a warm welcome, he and his partner will leave you in peace to enjoy your stay.
Enjoy pre-dinner G and Ts and late night conversations in the elegant drawing-room with its beautiful parquet flooring, comfy sofas and wood-burner, and steps lead down to the dining-room decorated in bold shades of red offsetting the flagstone floors, massive inglenook fireplace and grand dining-table making mealtimes a real celebration. The kitchen has more of a modern twist with of course an obligatory range cooker - what else would you expect in a country house. One bedroom is downstairs, ideal for those less mobile or who maybe want some privacy, and there's also a shower-room and utility-room.
With a house of this age and Listed status there are low level doorways, uneven floors and a steep twisted staircase - and it is this staircase that takes you up to the other four bedrooms, each with their own superb individual style; so will you stay in the pink room, the blue room or surely it has to be the opulent Art Deco room where even the newspaper is from the 1920s!
