The lovingly restored 18th Century Summer House is a stunning Cornish escape perfect for a romantic or relaxing break at any time of the year. Wonderfully unique and elegantly furnished, this magical retreat is accessed exclusively to guests through a private gate and up a flight of steps from the parking area below, the climb is worth it for the views and your privacy is guaranteed.

With panoramic views of the Duchy's Restormel Estate, stop a while at the window and gaze across the wooded valley from your elevated position above the trees. Sink into one of the armchairs and spend some down time reading your favourite book or planning the next day's adventure. Follow the steep wooden stairs from the sitting-room down to the ground floor kitchen, to find a wonderful example of great design and craftsmanship, practical and good looking.

Cook up a tasty treat and take a seat in the sitting-room or on the small private patio outside your bedroom on a sunny day to enjoy your morning coffee. Below the sitting-room you will find a further unique space to spend time, the garden room, accessed via outside steps and through the double doors is a magical space, especially early evening as the sun goes down, fire up the log-burner and relax.

When it's time for bed, head down the wooden steps to your gorgeous bedroom complete with king-size bed, comfy mattress and crisp cotton bedding, perfect for a good night's rest. The shower-room is right next door with a walk-in shower.

Guests staying in this historic holiday hideaway have full access to the leisure facilities located at nearby Restormel Manor including a sauna, swmming pool and tennis courts, and for the anglers, complimentary fishing on the river Fowey.

The Fowey valley is an area of great beauty, explore by foot or by car or get onto the river, you can find paddle board and kayak hire just a short drive away. Take a walk with a picnic and simply watch the wildlife around you or take a stroll into nearby Lostwithiel, now well-known as the antiques capital of Cornwall. Here you will find a friendly town with a thriving community, shops, galleries, cafes, restaurants and pubs to visit.

Bring your bike or hire one and head up to Cardinham Woods or to explore the Lanhydrock cycle trails, stop for coffee and a cake or a delicious meal at the Duchy Nursery, there's so much more than wonderful plants to feast your eyes on.

Head to one of the south coast beaches, many accessed within a 30 minute drive, across to the Eden Project, visit the beautiful Roseland peninsula, walk on Bodmin moor, whatever you like to do on holiday, taking it easy or having an action filled stay, there is something here for everyone and a stay at Summer House makes your holiday even more special.
