Wild Pear Beach is in sight of this gorgeous shepherd's hut and gives it its name. High above the incredible north Devon coast between Ilfracombe and Combe Martin, with its dramatic cliffs, rocky coves and sandy surfing beaches, this location is a winner. Add to that a bespoke, beautifully fitted out and furnished shepherd's hut with a touch of luxury and you have the perfect place to switch off from everyday life.

This special glamping site is set in its own dedicated enclosed area so you will feel really private. The historic farmstead is behind you and the lovely owners are on site to make you feel really welcome but will leave you to enjoy your holiday in peace. Inside, you have a super comfy bed with a proper sprung mattress, an en suite shower-room with endless hot water, flushing WC and heated towel rail (a far cry from those childhood camping memories!), a wood-burning stove (accompanied by an electric panel heater for the cooler months) and simple cooking facilities.

Your enclosed outside-area gives you a fire-pit barbecue for al fresco meals and private space to relax on a sunny day. Out-of-season this is a location that is exhilarating and dramatic and, whatever the weather comes up with, you have the cosiest of retreats to snuggle up in (insulated with sheep's wool, no less!).

As well as Wild Pear's sister, Copperas Shepherd's Hut, also on site is a very small campsite run by the owners and gorgeous The Linney, all unobtrusive from each other with their own private areas.

Berrynarbor is the closest village and there is a wonderful community-run shop there, as well as a great pub. The north Devon coast is also on the doorstep of the wilderness and wide open space of the Exmoor National Park, and so you have the best of both worlds to explore during your holiday. Glamping, hiking, surfing, sea kayaking or just chilling out, you name it and you can have it all here.
