The Malt House, built in 1825 and Grade II Listed, is situated in the centre of Crantock, a short distance from the village green and just half a mile from the dog-friendly sandy beach and rolling surf (see photograph). This detached property still retains many original features with dovecots, beamed ceilings and partial slate floors. Gracefully furnished with neutral elegance, the rustic influence is still evident. Old and unusual doors link the sitting and living-rooms, and the decoration, lighting and furniture all contribute to the atmosphere and comfort. The cosy living-room has a large granite fireplace housing a multi-burner. From here, steps lead down to the kitchen/breakfast-room where many convivial family meals will be enjoyed around the large dining-table. A wide, glazed door leads out from the breakfast-area to the small, sunny, enclosed patio with its array of flora in season. From the entrance hall, the staircase leads up to the galleried landing and five bedrooms, all with en suite facilities. This convenient location, coupled with the exceptional facilities provided, forms an ideal retreat for families and friends wishing to holiday together. The dramatic north coast, with its sheltered coves alternating with magnificent soaring cliffs, and many other attractions are all within easy reach.
