Old properties

Old properties are full of character and charm and many of our cottages are well over 100 years old - built a long time before the days of damp-proofing and cavity insulation! This may mean a few adjustments to keep things just right, such as leaving one or two windows open to let air circulate. It just helps to prevent heavy condensation caused by the climate this far west. We are very careful when inspecting an old property but it is inevitable the odd damp patch will appear as it is the nature of the materials they are built from. Staying in an old property is a different experience from living in modern, air-conditioned spaces so as a general rule, we would advise against taking elderly people, very young babies, or anyone particularly susceptible to damp, to an older type of property.
