Hello Lake District!

For awe-inspiring scenery, a true appreciation of the great outdoors, and the perfect place to simply savour the magic of the English countryside, there’s nowhere quite like the Lake District. With England’s highest mountain, Scafell Pike, and its largest lake, Lake Windermere, and not to mention all of the surrounding beauty, the Lake District has long been the inspiration for writers, explorers and artists. Of course, popular activities include walking, hiking, cycling and simply gazing out at the views, but there’s lots of other fantastic things to do in the Lake District. Discovering the fabulous food and drink scene, rock-climbing, following in the footsteps of Beatrix Potter and William Wordsworth, visiting galleries and museums, kayaking…The list goes on. A top UK holiday destination, the Lake District attracts visitors from not only the UK, but internationally, too. Visitors tend to be couples and families, travelling to see the breath-taking scenery for themselves, and looking to stay in traditional cottages, romantic retreats and dog friendly places to stay.
