Great Atmosphere

Ate here twice during our weeks stay in Seaview. Even though we hadn’t booked the first time we went, which was a busy Saturday lunch time and we were a party of 6 including a 3 year old, we were given a warm welcome and seated with no problems. We had great service and the food was delicious on both occasions. We booked for our second visit as it seems to be a very popular place, understandably given the quality of the food and the service. Very family friendly too with a great buzzy atmosphere, would highly recommend a visit.

Excellent food and great staff

This is a great place to eat as it has some lovely dishes and has a specials board. We tried the sea bass which was so nice we returned for a second helping! Our party also tried the fish of the day which was a whole sea bream, again delicious. The shell on prawns, the fish and chips and the crab ramekin were also really nice and the bread served here was gorgeous and you get plenty of butter. The chocolate brownie dessert was a triumph too. All of this, plus it is dog friendly! Definitely recommended to try.

The Old Fort Seaview

Lovely seaside pub with outside sitting area. Enjoyed the food, but you do need to book ahead as they get very busy and its OK to sit outside if it is a balmy summer evening.

Nice but....

We never got to actually eat in this pub. We did try several times but we were either too late or too early and they weren't serving food and then on our last evening there we were told no dogs after 6pm so we couldn't get a table. To be honest we did rather feel that sailing club members were given priority over holiday makers and that we were a bit of a nuisance that is tolerated rather than encouraged.

In an idylic setting the the village of Shorwell this pub offers traditional homemade food, real ales and a menu created using local produce. A log fire will keep you warm during winter and there's an outdoor play area in summer for children. Dogs are very welcome.

Lovely pub

We had two very good meals at The Crown Inn. The food is very good with plenty of choice and the Specials were delicious. The staff are very efficient and sociable and it is very dog friendly there both inside and outside in the garden

Park above the beach and take the steps down. There's two miles of open sandy beach, sandstone cliffs and the chalk cliffs of Freshwater further afield. There are no facilities apart from toilets so take all your food and drink with you. It's a popular spot for kitesurfers and windsurfers. Dogs are not allowed from 1st June to the end of September and there is no lifeguard cover.

Great beach shame about the dogs

Beautiful beach shame they allow dogs on it while summer months and children are there as I witnessed ignorant owners allowing their dogs to foul the beach and leave it there

Great choice

This shop was open at 2 set times during the day, and we were pleased to see it was open until 18.30 when we stayed in Sept. They have a great choice of local produce including dairy items, the milk and Greek yogurt we had was delicious. The fruit was fresh and good quality, plus on sale were various dry goods and newspapers. A great selection of items. We will use the shop again if we return to Seaview.

Great Little Local Shop

A new community shop recently opened in the heart of the village. It offers fresh fruit and vegetables, milk, bread and other local produce. This is the perfect place to get provisions in Seaview and saves a trip to the supermarket in the car.

A pretty bay with a sand and pebble beach nestled in between chalk cliffs. Located just to the east of Needles headland, the beach is popular but usually has ample space and facilities. Parking is available and dogs are not allowed from May until the end of September. There's no lifeguard cover here.

Refreshing

We sat on the wall next to the short promenade, the air is so fresh, the sun was warm and the sea was noisy around this lovely bay crashing over nearby rocks and rushing up the beach. It was only 30 minutes but wonderful in October.

If you visit at high tide, there's a good spot along the sea wall to jump off and go for a swim. At low tide the 'cabbage patch' of rocks appear, a great spot for rock pooling and exploring, but shoes are advised!
