This deceptively spacious, terraced, period cottage, at the heart of Instow on the north Devon coast, is just steps away from the fabulous sandy beach. Instow is an excellent all year round place to stay, with sea views, miles of sand and shallow pools. For cyclists, the much loved Tarka Trail runs right through the village. Dot's Cottage has been fully renovated to a very high standard. There is friendly open plan living/dining space with wooden flooring, a separate kitchen looking out over the garden, two double bedrooms (one with a little en suite cloakroom facility), a bunk bedroom with full three-foot beds and a spacious family bathroom. There is a pretty back garden with a lawn and a secure bike shed.
Instow offers all the perfect ingredients for a lovely holiday for family, friends or couples. You can stroll along Marine Parade alongside the long sandy beach which has dunes at the far end, watching the changing views out to sea at the mouth of the estuary where the Atlantic waves roll in. The historic fishing village of Appledore faces Instow across the water and there is a seasonal passenger ferry to take you to and fro. Instow has plenty of family-friendly pubs for eating out and just around the corner from the cottage there is an utterly irresistible award-winning deli with a cafe. This is a place where you can forget about the car and watch the world go by so if you want to bring your bikes the Tarka Cycle Trail is an excellent way to get about to explore this stretch of the coast and to see the countryside inland.
