A room with a view is an understatement here – this beautifully designed, brand new, semi-detached mid-Devon holiday property, on the fringes of Exmoor National Park, commands an amazing position on the Owners' farmstead overlooking an unspoilt valley and the hillside beyond. From the glorious south-facing deck you are likely to spot deer as they emerge from the woodland. Ramstorland Valley View is truly the place for peace and quiet, surrounded by nature. The living space is open plan to celebrate that view and there are two double bedrooms – one with a king-size bed and the other with 'zip and link' beds that can either be set up as a king-size bed or as twins, and with a Jack and Jill shower-room between them.
This semi-detached holiday base is the end cottage of the barn conversion. You have your own dedicated section of the stunning deck that runs along the length of the barn. A little stone wall has been carefully designed to add to your privacy without hindering the view. There is a washing machine and tumble-drier in an outbuilding, shared with the two other cottages on site. There is plenty of private off road parking and to complement the single-storey property there is a sloped access rather than steps. The cottage is just half a mile from the little village of Stoodleigh which has a pub with a lovely beer garden for sunny days and where children are welcome. If you head up onto Exmoor you will find the pretty market town of Dulverton – known as the Gateway to Exmoor – which has some really great cafes and pubs, independent shops for those holiday treats, and a brilliant Visitor/Tourism Information Centre too. Fine dining is only nine miles away at the 13th Century, Michelin starred, restaurant The Mason's Arms, situated in the pretty village of Knowstone. Bampton is only three miles away and also great for provisions – there is a fabulous bakery there! The National Trust's Knighthayes Court is just a 10 minute drive away. Stoodleigh is a good base for a day trip to the north or south Devon coasts. There is easy access to the link road that takes you up to Barnstaple and Bideford and that part of the coast boasts endless sandy beaches, try Instow, Saunton Sands and Braunton Burrows. The little lane leading from the village to Ramstorland Farm is narrow and steep but it is only a short distance and the lane is really very quiet – used by the occasional tractor and a handful of local residents.
