A designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near the gently rolling Blackdown Hills, the Otter Valley is an idyllic destination for a truly relaxing holiday, its network of footpaths criss-crossing the breathtaking countryside perfect for enthusiastic walkers, their four-legged friends, and for cyclists. At the end of a quiet country lane which then becomes a bridleway, The Gables is a delightful single-storey, wheelchair-access friendly, detached cottage with spectacular views across the valley, especially southwards from the large enclosed garden and patio. Three other small holiday cottages nearby share the peace and tranquility of this rural idyll, yet Honiton is only four miles distant and Seaton, Beer and Branscombe on the south coast are under half an hour’s drive away. Ideal for a break in any season, The Gables has under-floor heating throughout and a cosy wood-burner in the slate-floored open plan living-room. Features such as exposed oak beams and ledge-and-brace doors with Suffolk latches add traditional touches but all modern conveniences are provided too, including an en suite shower-room in the master bedroom as well as an easily accessible separate wet-room. This property has a private water supply, regularly tested.
