Tavistock nestles in a valley on the edge of Dartmoor and has much to offer – a daily Pannier Market, good restaurants and interesting shops. Down a narrow leafy lane, Tuell Farm Cottage is a short drive from the town with only the Owners and another barn as neighbours. This attractive barn conversion dates back to the mid-1800s but is now a welcoming countryside retreat with a cosy wood-burner. It has its own garden and inside is a fitted kitchen and spacious sitting/dining-room. Upstairs (take care on the wooden open-tread staircase), the bedrooms have wooden floors (as does the landing) and some exposed stone walls. Apart from the obvious attractions of Dartmoor or Cornwall to the west, the Tamar Valley is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and there are lots of activities close by; or, for bucket and spade days, the sandy beaches at Bude and Widemouth Bay are easily reached by car. So whatever the season, Tuell Farm Cottage is ideal for that well-earned holiday.
