Grade II Listed Brandywine House offers fascinating glimpses into Brixham’s history as an old fishing port. Originally an inn, the haunt of smugglers and fishermen, it is set in a quiet cul-de-sac just one street back from the bustling quay and shops, providing an ideal place to relax, with all the convenience of a central location. Spread over three floors, it is a four star VisitBritain graded stylish terraced house, with the benefit of a large deck, ideal for al fresco dining, and two bathrooms making this a popular house with mixed generation families. The first floor sitting/dining-room is airy and welcoming and the top floor master bedroom is a real treat with a four-poster bed and views over rooftops towards the harbour. Whatever the season, this area has many things to do – exploring the steeply winding narrow streets, taking coastal cliff walks, beach outings where all ages can spend hours rock pooling, tossing pebbles or building sandcastles, crabbing from the harbour steps or relaxing in the free open-air salt-water public pool (or the heated indoor alternative). This is the perfect cottage to return to after a day exploring gorgeous south Devon. The approach to the cottage is a little complicated, through narrow streets, so guests must contact the Owner before arrival.
