The village of Shaldon is on the south bank of the Teign estuary, ideally located for exploring south Devon. Compass Cottage (the middle cottage in the photograph) is tucked away on one side of The Green, a grass square in the heart of the village used by the Shaldon Bowls Club in the summer. The terraced cottage has a tiny front patio and although there is no garden, the village beach is 300 yards away. Furnished with contemporary flair, there are comfortable leather sofas in the sitting/dining-room and a well-equipped kitchen. Typical of an 18th Century cottage, there are steep wooden stairs with a narrow landing and some low beams, especially in the compact bathroom. The master bedroom overlooks the square, whilst the small bunk-room is at the back of the cottage. For that special treat, the pub across the square is renowned for its seafood. This is the perfect cottage for a small family or a couple. *A cot is not provided, please bring your own travel cot (the cot must go in bedroom 1).
