Description

Close to the village of Aveton Gifford, a small country lane leads to Waterhead Cottage, the first in a terrace of three. This unusual cottage is on three floors with steep stairs to the first floor and even steeper, companionway-style steps to the top floor. The open plan living-room has a wood-burner and French windows overlooking the patio and garden, which is bordered on two sides by a tidal tributary of the nearby river (take care with children). A wooden bridge leads out to waterside meadows – with the Fisherman’s Rest pub an adventurous half-mile stroll along the riverbank (bring your wellies as well as flip-flops). This is a haven of peace and quiet with only one or two neighbours (the neighbours have a seldom-used right of way across the garden) – the Owners live across the lane but often travel overseas. Please note, the cottage is unsuitable for small children and the television and mobile reception is non-existent, although a DVD player is provided.

Ground Floor Porch. Open plan living-room with kitchen and dining areas. TV, DVD player, CD player and wood-burner. Gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. First Floor Bedroom 1 with twin beds. Bedroom 2 with single bed (4'). Shower-room with shower, WC and wash-basin. Second Floor Bedroom 3 with double bed, shower cubicle and en suite Cloakroom with WC and wash-basin. Outside access to Outhouse with fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble-drier, shower cubicle, WC and wash-basin.
