This spacious converted church is equidistant from the north Devon coast’s wide sandy beaches and from the rugged scenery of the Dartmoor National Park. St Michael and All Angels, in the tiny rural hamlet of Hollocombe, has a large patio and enclosed landscaped garden making the most of the peaceful setting (please take care with children as some of the garden paths have steps and drops). Beyond the kitchen/breakfast-room is a large comfortable sitting-room with a wood-burner, and a separate dining-room with a grand table for special occasions or leisurely family meals – choose your local produce from the pretty village of Chulmleigh nearby. Upstairs the three bedrooms have lovely views, the master bedroom being exceptionally spacious. An excellent way to explore this part of Devon is by rail on the picturesque local Tarka Line – the nearest station is at Eggesford, only a short drive away. You can hop on and off along the way to try out some of the lovely countryside walks and local pubs. Just to reassure you, there is no graveyard at this property!
