The lane to the property is not easy to spot but if you delay putting the post code into your satnav until you leave the junction of the A30 then its fine ,put it on early and you will go down many country lanes which can be a nightmare First class locality for exploring Cornwall, cottage is exceptional so are the hosts...

At Kernel's Barn you really are perfectly located to explore all over Cornwall even with the infamous Cornish backroads! We'd always recommend our directions that come in your holiday preparation guide as they come from firsthand experience and are sometimes even better than our trusty Satnavs. We're so pleased though that you thought the cottage was exceptional as well as the hosts and we'd hope to see you back here in Cornwall soon again. ...

Another wonderful holiday at Kernel's Barn, Colin and Sally are great hosts, our daughter was able to help with feeding the chickens and egg collecting, the highlight of her stay. The house was clean and comfortable, a peaceful and relaxing location within easy reach to Portreath and Porthtowan. ...

We have just returned from a 5 day stay at Kernels Barn. It was lovely the barn is beautiful and absolutely spotless. The hosts had left a cream tea for us in the fridge which was a lovely surprise and we had the use of a lovely garden at the property. The hosts Colin and Sally were very friendly and we enjoyed a visit to see Colin’s prize heifer Nectarine. The barn is in beautiful countryside but only minutes away from 2 beaches and places to eat. I would highly recommend the truly charming property and will definitely visit again. Thank you. ...

The cottage is comfortable and superbly situated allowing us to leave the car and take walks to either Portreath Beach and Porthtowan. Colin and Sally are extremely friendly and helpful. We hope to return next year and fully expect to see Colin's rosettes on the gate from showing his prize 'cow'...
