WILD Young Parents Project is a wonderful Cornish charity, originally set up by a group of young parents in 1992 and is now the largest young parents’ charity in the UK. Their important work is truly inspiring, and we are really pleased to be able to support them this year.
WILD works with young parents and their children across Cornwall, to provide a whole family service. Their aim is to meet the individual needs of these families and help to create the best start to family life. WILD run weekly outreach groups across Cornwall, and provide support in many other ways, including offering opportunities for families to socialise and explore new activities, and providing access to specialist support in areas such as mental health, housing, finances, and parenting.
Over the last year, the charity has had contact with over 400 children reaching across 300 families – this was an 80% increase on the number of children accessing the service from the previous year due to the COVID pandemic. At Classic, we are delighted to be able to support Wild Young Parents with a donation of £1,000. This donation will be added to WILD’s emergency fund to support families when they are most in need.
