Dog Friendly Cottages Isle of Wight
A majority of the beaches remain open to dogs all year round so no matter the time of year, you’ll always be able to bring the dog on your break. You’ve also got plenty of forest and hillside walks to enjoy further inland too. But it’s not all about walkies, as dogs have a huge presence on the isle, many pubs, restaurants and cafes welcome dogs in to rest while you enjoy a drink and a bite to eat. Read more
For plenty of pet friendly wilderness walks, West Wight is your best bet. A gorgeous Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the needles offers up stunning sea views to enjoy while your pooch runs like the wind. From Brighstone and Brook to Freshwater Bay and Totland, there’s plenty to explore along the coast. This area is fairly reminiscent of Cornwall, with lots of grasses and bays opening up to reveal golden sands.
If you want miles of straight golden sands, a visit to Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor on the south of the island will give you plenty of beaches to explore. Ideal in all weathers and tides, the promenade along this part of the Isle of Wight keeps the water at bay when the weather gets a little stormy.
In East Wight, you’ll find the doggie havens of Bembridge, Seaview and St Helens whose beaches are pet friendly all year round. This area is particularly welcoming to dogs so most restaurants and cafes will allow well-behaved dogs inside to warm up and dry off by the fireside or to relax and refuel before bounding out into the sunshine.
Further inland, Brading is a stone’s throw from the wonderful forest of Borthwood Copse. Dogs must be under control here but with the potential of spotting a red squirrel, this is a place not to be missed. There are lots of National Trust walks and paths around the island to enjoy with all of the family, including your beloved doggie.
With so much to see and do, you’ll look forward to coming home to the comfort of our 66 luxury pet friendly properties. Snuggle up in front of the fire on cooler evenings or bask outside in the evening sun. A cottage with an enclosed garden means that adventurous dogs are less likely to escape, but don’t assume that they’re escape proof! We provide the comforts of home to keep you and your dog relaxed and happy. With a dog friendly property, a holiday for you is a holiday for your pet, too.
