Shaftesbury | Sleeps 4 + cot | Price Band FF (£360 - £738)
Picture 1 of 23. There is a lovely back garden with a raised patio at the far end - the cottage is in the background.
This delightful 300 year old cottage is a short stroll from the centre of Shaftesbury, a historic Saxon town in a stunning hilltop position. In a little terrace in one of the oldest parts of the town, Thetis Cottage balances a welcoming contemporary interior with plenty of period character. The kitchen/dining-room, with original panelled walls, opens out onto a little courtyard and beyond it is a fabulous enclosed garden with a lovely patio-area. The first floor bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, and there is a fabulous shower-room. A secret retreat for grown-ups is on the second floor – a writing and reading room with views for miles (this period cottage has steep stairs, especially to the attic room, please take care). Within walking distance, Shaftesbury has lovely shops, cafes and restaurants and, of course, the famous steeply cobbled Gold Hill. Great outings are to Stonehenge and the National Trust gardens at Stourhead – there is something for all within very easy reach. Please note that the changeover times are 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.
