This is a view of the front of Purtington Barn Cottage. There is a sheltered patio and the open gardens, stream and pond are beyond.The spacious living area is bright and cheerful with two sets of French windows leading to the patio and  looking out over the grounds.This is the lovely countryside view directly in front of the cottage.
The spacious double bedroom, Bedroom 1, has views across the garden, over the stream, and to the hillside beyond.Looking back at the barn from the far end of the bottom of the garden, across the stream.The sun pours into the sitting/dining- room from the south-facing patio.
The galley kitchen has all that you will need. There is also a useful separate utility-room.The sunlight pours into the sitting-room - a wonderfully peaceful place to relax.This is another view of Bedroom 1, a lovely light and airy room.
Bedroom 1 has a really  large en suite bathroom.This is comfortable Bedroom 2, also with a double bed.There is a second bathroom which serves as an en suite to Bedroom 2.  It is just across the corridor.
The Barn is part of a very thoughtful conversion, in the middle section but with plenty of peace,  privacy and dedicated space outside.This is the 'hidden' lower part of the gardens - with a wonderful range of wildflower planting, shrubs and trees leading to the pond.
There are lovely gardens for you to enjoy here. This pond is fed by the natural stream that runs through the lower garden.Spring residents in the field behind the cottage.The stunning Jurassic Coast is a short drive away. This is the beach at Charmouth.
The east Devon and west Dorset coastline offers lovely fishing villages and harbours to visit.Forde Abbey is the closest historic house that is open to the public but the Cricket St Thomas park with lakeside walks is literally on the doorstep.Lyme Regis is another famous destination on the Jurassic Coast.  A lovely day out from Purtington Barn Cottage.
This is the Cricket St Thomas estate next door - with lakeside walks and a special offer for Classic guests for  use of the Leisure Centre (including a pool).The Windwhistle Pub  has a wonderful beer garden with panoramic views.  Great food served here!This is one of the little Shetland ponies who have come to live here!
Here are the others!A hidden gem, a brick built C19th Victorian Overshot water wheel. This was used to power a saw mill.Purtington Barn Cottage is part of a lovely barn conversion (the middle section).

Tranquil Purtington Barn Cottage is in a glorious rural setting close to the Somerset, Dorset and east Devon borders – a perfect central base for enjoying the South West – within easy reach of Exeter, the Jurassic Coast, and further afield the north Devon coast, Dartmoor and Exmoor. Stop off en route as you pass Stonehenge and Stourhead. This cottage is exceptionally spacious and the living area has French windows (low lintels, be careful) onto the patio and the beautifully kept gardens beyond. The two double bedrooms overlook the grounds and farmland, one has an en suite bathroom and there is a second bathroom too. Enjoy the stream-side seat at the bottom of the garden (there is a drop from the garden) and watch the wildlife in the conservation meadow. Make the most of a special offer to use the nearby Cricket St Thomas Estate Spa and pool. The cottage, adjoining the Owner’s home, is presented to a very high standard and feels completely private. There is a private water supply, regularly tested. Please note that the changeover times are 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.
