Once upon a time The Magazine was the dynamite store for the Lamorna quarry; it is now a cosy clifftop retreat. There are stunning views from this detached cottage, set into the side of the cliff leading down to Lamorna Harbour. The steep 100 yard uphill walk from the private parking space is well worth the effort to reach the path to the cottage. A stable-door gives access to the kitchen, which opens into the traditional living area and conservatory – you will delight in the sea views and the roaring wood-burner which will provide a warming glow on cooler days. A spiral staircase (please take care) leads up to the bathroom and two double bedrooms, one of which boasts a balcony with the very best view, an ideal place to enjoy a morning cuppa. Outside The Magazine, numerous garden terraces provide the perfect vantage point to watch the tides and shipping lanes – you can set your watches to the Scillonian as it makes its daily sailing from Penzance to the Isles of Scilly. Please note that the changeover times are 5pm on arrival and 12 noon on departure.
