Set in the wide open landscapes of east Dorset, semi-detached Old Down Cottage is tucked down a little unmade lane in a completely peaceful location. The cottage has been lovingly furnished and decorated to create a welcoming, spacious home-from-home. The well planned accommodation is very flexible and you can enjoy the peace and quiet in the enclosed front garden or on the decking at the back. This is an excellent base for exploring the ancient landmarks of rural and coastal Dorset; Cranborne Chase (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door on the stunning Purbeck peninsula, or Poole Harbour with beaches, watersports, the National Trust’s Brownsea Island and a ferry across to Studland and Swanage – all in one location! The New Forest is just across the border in Hampshire – another excellent family outing. Blandford Forum, with its Georgian origins, is the nearest market town and beyond is Bulbarrow Hill, the highest point in Dorset – a beautiful picnic spot with panoramic views. The property has a private water supply (regularly tested). *A cot is not provided, please bring your own travel cot.
