Artists once flocked to this area of Cornwall, where the ever-changing light is unique. Approached through a wooded valley, Tregurnow Farm, set high above Lamorna Cove with its dramatic cliffs (see photograph), has wonderful distant sea views. As well as these three contemporary barn conversions, all furnished to a high standard with neutral decor throughout, there is Knight’s Cottage (2398). Munnings’ Barn and Forbes’ Retreat have south-facing balconies (take care with children) and The Owls’ House has a south-facing terrace. Walks are abundant, and a good pub and excellent restaurant a stroll across fields. Set around a communal courtyard, there is a lawned play-area, perfect for youngsters to let off steam whilst adults can watch from the properties nearby.

Semi-detached Munnings’ Barn, so-called after the artist Sir Alfred Munnings, is spacious and reversed level to take advantage of the sea views. A dog is welcome and there is a family bedroom. The master bedroom leads to a smaller child’s bedroom, which in turn gives access to the en suite bathroom. The first floor living-room has oak floors and contemporary decor.
