Higher Alsworthy Barn, previously The Calf Barn, (graded four stars by VisitEngland) is a charming single-storey conversion with a stylish open plan living-room including a well-equipped kitchen. There are two bedrooms, one en suite and one next door to a family bathroom, making the cottage ideal for couples or a small family. Pleasantly situated in a farm location (although not a working farm), just outside the village of Beaworthy, the Tamar Lakes nearby offers bird watching, fishing and watersports (the Owners, who live at the end of the drive, can provide full details). Bude, with its magnificent beaches, offers all the delights of a seaside town and is about a half-hour drive, so why not try your hand at surfing? Or for the more sedate, just sit out in the garden opposite this lovely cottage. The Owner is a collector of vintage vehicles and has an impressive collection of restored classic cars, motorcycles, tractors and lorries and would be delighted to show guests around.
