DescriptionPleasantly situated in a farm location, a couple of miles from the village of Bradworthy, The Calf Barn (graded four stars by VisitBritain) is ideally placed for most holiday needs. The Tamar Lakes nearby offer bird watching, fishing and watersports (the Owners, who live at the end of the drive, can provide full details). Several gorgeous beaches are close and Bude is about a half-hour drive. This single-storey barn conversion has a stylishly furnished open plan living-room. There is a well-equipped kitchen/dining-area and both bedrooms are en suite, making this ideal for couples or a small family. Although not a working farm, there are grazing sheep and cows on the surrounding 100 acres which guests can explore. There is a large lawned area opposite the cottage for guests’ use – just right for that summer’s evening barbecue. Elsewhere on the farm, Ken Wilson the Owner has created the Bradworthy Transport Museum, with its own licensed tea-room. A labour of love, there is a collection of over 100 historic transport and farm vehicles and Ken offers all his guests a free entry each – well worth a visit.
