Set on a hill outside Colyton, Poundhouse Cottage enjoys views of the Axe valley. This semi-detached cottage has custom-made sofas, natural flooring and a hand-built kitchen. Set next to the Owner’s home, Robin’s View (1247) and Sceat Cottage (1246) are also on site. The cottage leads to a grassy area bordered by a shallow stream; this tends to run dry in summer, but please take care with children. Approached by steps, the open plan living area is set around central stairs, which are flanked by glass walls. Two bedrooms are on the first floor along with the family bathroom. The front terrace is perfect for relaxing after a day exploring local beaches, as well as Lyme Regis and Honiton. The National Trust’s Shute Barton (limited opening) is nearby and is worth a visit.
