One can imagine a sea captain of old scanning the horizon from this four-storey Victorian town house for sight of his ships heading home to Plymouth Hoe. Even today, some kind of maritime activity will surely catch your eye as you take in the views from Rame Head to Looe (see photograph). Set off the road above the rock pools and sand of Downderry beach, this terraced house (the property with the dormer window) has been lovingly restored, retaining many period details, including a claw-foot bath. The spacious sitting-room and three of the bedrooms look out over the sea, and a separate snug offers extra relaxation space. The beautifully appointed kitchen leads into an elegant dining-room, which opens onto a small terrace where barbecues can be enjoyed as the sun sets. With numerous beaches and footpaths accessible along the coast, bustling Looe nearby, ferries from Kingsand to Plymouth, and the Eden Project beckoning to the west, you will want to stay forever! Please note that the changeover times are 4pm on arrival and 10am on departure.
