The Little Todden

If you were looking for cottages like The Little Todden, how about trying these:

You could hardly find anywhere nearer the sea than this tiny detached thatched cottage in the heart of Cadgwith (bottom photograph), built on the solid granite ‘Todden’, common ground which juts out into the sea dividing the cove into two. Watch the waves crashing on the rocks below or the fishing boats sail in on the summer tides, from the patio or from inside this cosy little gem, where the dining-table sits strategically under the bow window. Its origins unclear, The Little Todden has been cleverly adapted to include a bathroom and tiny kitchenette, a steep spiral staircase (regrettably unsuitable for less mobile guests) winding up to the small galleried twin bedroom with its sloping ceilings – beware if you are very tall or suffer from vertigo! Downstairs, the living-room has a comfortable sofa, hand-made furniture and wireless broadband, with pictures and prints of local scenes adding the finishing touches. A public footpath runs alongside the cottage and its patio to the end of The Todden (top photograph), a popular spot with locals and holiday-makers alike. Behind the cottage lies ‘The Wee Todden’, a tiny stone pied-a-terre occasionally used by the Owner.
