Guest experience: Our stay in Uplands, Praa Sands

Debbie enjoyed her stay at Uplands (2171) so much she sent us this lovely email:

Just want to say a BIG thank you to all at Classic Cottages.  I have
just stayed at Uplands at Praa Sands for a week and it was magnificent.
I work in Australia as a Visitor Information Service Officer and I book
accommodation and tours for tourist, so I just want to say that from the
time I booked with you to the time I walked out of Uplands yesterday, I
was delighted with your service.  I am singing your praises to all I
meet now.  I have a son that lives in London and I am telling all his
friends and back in Australia I will be suggesting your site to my
Travel Agent and all who ask me about my holiday.  Well done and
Uplands and Praa Sands were out of this world, a great base for doing
family research in nearby Helston and Breage.   The views out the window
of the surf beach was like I was home but with English gardens all
around.  So THANK YOU again!!!

Well, we just had to say thank you and ask her more about her holiday. It turns out she was visiting from Australia and staying in one of our holiday cottages in Cornwall with her son and daughter who came down from London. Her son, Scott, sent us some lovely holiday snaps and had this to say about their stay:

My mother, sister, partner and I arrived at Praa Sands on 6th October 2012 on a magnificent sunny day, after a long drive from London. We were full of excitement at finally reaching Uplands, our home for the week and we were not disappointed one bit!

After taking in the glorious coastal view from the secluded drive up we ran the stairs through the pretty front garden and were blown away by the house and all it offered.

The location provides the perfect tranquility from the busy city we're used to and the views of the beach had us smiling from ear to ear as we all knew we were in for the relaxing week we so wished for. Praa Sands instantly felt like the right location to choose for us, as it's not overly crowded or touristy and with Uplands perched at a lovely spot on the cliff looking out to the sea, we felt like we'd chosen a very special place indeed.

The house easily accommodated the four for us and would most definitely be okay for 5 or 6 people to stay in. Everything was ready for us, even a lovely plate of scones, jam and cream waiting in the fridge. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and we enjoyed having the large dining table to sit around together and enjoy the view. The lounge room was comfortable and warm, perfect for us all to have nights in front of the TV after long days sight seeing. Also having two bathrooms was ideal for us as a family and our bedrooms great with the soft sound of the waves nearby.

After our initial sunny day the weather was misty until our final few days, however it really did not bother us. We had our own lovely piece of Cornwall to relax in and felt right at home. The hardest part of the week was definitely having to say goodbye!

Nearby, the Beachcomber Cafe was a lovely place to keep visiting, providing a great evening meal and a nice place for breakfast, which is a short walk along the beach.

Other places in Cornwall we would recommend visiting would be:

MarazionSt Michael's Mount
Minack Theatre
St Ives
Sennen Cove
Mousehole
