Guest experience: Our stay in Park House Barn, Sherborne

I have stayed at Park House Barn (2197) several times (we keep going back) - the girls love the indoor private pool and we go swimming twice a day, every day.  There are three lovely fields to walk in and it is pet friendly, so our four-legged friend can come with us! The property is lovely and warm, and we always go out-of-season. It is reversed level living, so both the bedrooms and en suite bathrooms are on the ground floor. Upstairs there is a lovely large open plan room so Mum can stand in the kitchen while the kids play a board game with Dad on the sofa. There are TV’s in both the bedrooms and the living room – so there is no arguments over which channel to watch!

There is a lovely garden with trampoline, swings and a toddlers play area.  The pub down the road is very good, although a little pricy. If you don’t want to drive there is a train station just down the road. We stopped holidaying at Centre Parcs when we found this property, it’s a lot better value for money, and more relaxing.

Family Holidays: Crabbing at Stoke Gabriel

On most crabbing adventures at other sites we feel the familiar tug on the line and gingerly start to pull the string up, but halfway up the wall the crab wisely lets go of the bag and jumps back into the water. Not so at Stoke Gabriel.
